Hi

There will be a day-long event on NETmundial follow-up on Day Zero of the IGF Istanbul, which will include the release of a multi-author e-book on implementing the Roadmap http://igf2014.sched.org. Strengthening the IGF will be addressed, as will other institutional issues. Moreover, strengthening options and the IGF’s role should be discussed in one or two main sessions; there are MAG+ groups working to program those now. And just to echo what Paul said, the CoCom has discussed the possible roles of 1Net at some length, and it’s safe to say there’s little prospect of it supplanting the IGF in any way. Whether it could come to contribute something more in other settings, e.g. in relation to the NETmundial Alliance initiative, remains to be seen.

Cheers

Bill

BTW, if my memory is correct one of those action points would be the strengthening of IGF (or its legitimate successor after the 10th anniversary.)
